  • Don't cover too much! Just keep it simple & clear.
  • Tell your story in a new & different way.
  • Keep your writing simple.
  • Tell your story through people.
  • When interviewing, let the people tell the story.
  • Use the “So what?” test. - Does the information you are giving matter to your viewers?
  • Add feelings to your story. - Will your viewers feel a personal connection to the story and the people in it?
  • Use strong natural(environmental) sound.
  • Ask open-ended questions when interviewing. – You don’t want “yes” or “no” answers.
  • Get the person to tell the story.
